Susan was inspired by Arnold the Pig on the TV show Green Acres - and dreamed of someday owning a pig. She finally got her beloved pot belly pig Pickles, who accompanied her to story times and school assemblies. Although Pickles has passed away - Susan's little Yorkie, Chester - now goes with her to spread the message..."Follow Your Dreams!!"
Susan is the great, great granddaughter of Rev. Dr. Edward Everett Hale, Bostonian clergyman and author best known for "The Man Without a Country." Her great, great grand uncle, Edward Everett was President of Harvard University and later U.S. Secretary of State. Nathan Hale, the Revolutionary War hero whose immortal last words were, "I regret that I have but one life to lose for my country" was Susan's great, g.g.g.g.g.g.g. uncle.
Susan received a bachelor of music degree in classical organ performance from Wheaton College, Illinois. She pursued her master's at The Juilliard School, but her focus turned back to her love of painting. She also studied at The Art Students League of New York and has done several solo art shows.
